You can exercise the “right of abatement” to trim back to the boundary, but follow the law. Under Queensland’s Neighbourhood Disputes (Dividing Fences and Trees) Act 2011, you may prune back to your boundary. If branches overhang >50 cm and are ≤2.5 m high, you can serve a Form 3 notice for removal; for higher branches (over 2.5 m), you can apply to QCAT for an order.
